I got into smoking and curing bbacon some time back want be buying anymore.

a couple of the smaller slabs came from a 200# wild hog we caught in one of our traps at our family's farm.

The finished product. I smoked it a lot cooler to render less fat from it... Try it you will like it!!!!!!!!!!

Looking very good. That's on my gotta try list.
 
campdude iit is very easy, iwas a little intimidated at first but read a bunch of post and jumped in . I used Morton tenderquick as my curing agent. Then pure maple syrup, and a host of other spices
 
Nice build on the pit, and nice job on the smoker.

It is our nature to fear new things, glad you jumped in and gave it a try. Soon you;ll be making garlic bacon, jalapeno bacon, and all sorts of other varieties...

I'm done with buying bacon too!

Looks like yer making some great stuff on the nice pit y'all built - way to go!
