For me, actually no.
I like to master something I have, not bounce around and collect bar-b-ques.
So I have a grill (gas), and two electric smokers. Which are actually just naturally aspirated smoking ovens.
The only reason I have two smokers is because I got one for free from a guy, and I wanted the larger one for cold smoking bacon. Although, with my external temp control I use it as a cold/low temperature smoker. (I wanted more room, Mo room=Mo Bacon, which I cold smoke.)

But I'm a smoking purist. If I could, I'd have a wooden smoke house in my back yard. I never consider a Bar-B-Que a Smoker.

But the most important thing in my outdoor kitchen is the little fridge. It cures smoked Bacon, and keeps the beer cold.
Nothing like swilling a can of beer that has a Bacon scent to it, while some ribs are slow roasting... :icon_smile_tongue:

I’m actually happier with fewer. I really wanted the Pit Barrel Jr- but that itch too has passed. My cooks, though frequent have gotten smaller in volume. I would maybe hit the Oklahoma Joe Bronco on clearance at Walmart if it got closer to $100. Not even sure on that. I do think barrels produce great food. I’m comfortable with what I have. More into eliminating than adding anything at this time
I'm cutting back too. Sold a Copperhead nib.

I'm comfortable with what I have as well. A gasser, kettle, and a Pit Barrel Jr on my patio. I use them all, and haven't found myself needing more.

I've reaaaaallly get smoker envy when it comes to insulated cabinets and offset stick burners. Those haunt me at night, been tough to resist, but they're in a new budget bracket that I'm not ready to break in to. But probably some day.

I hope my wants are getting fewer. I mostly cook on a 22 inch Weber both direct and indirect with the occasional rotisserie chicken.
I use the Blackstone griddle for smash burgers and an outside breakfast cook once in a while.
But I ended up with a couple of Masterbuilt smokers. One electric and one dual fuel. That's what happens when you work at Home Depot and know when items are on final clearance, Have modified both and they both get used some.
Bought a 18 inch WSM at a thrift store because of the price. Who would have passed it up for 36 dollars when it had several mods and only needed a cooking grate. Two weeks ago the same store had an almost new 18 inch Weber kettle for 30 dollars.
Then someone wants to sell a small BGE for 50 dollars.
That's only part of the list but I did not go looking for most of my cookers, they come looking for me.
The only cooker that I have wanted lately is a Santa Maria grill. I have a COS that only gets used as a charcoal grill when I need extra space. I have drawn up plans for getting rid of the lid and converting it to what I want.

When it comes to Grills, Guns, Guitars and Gals/guys........there is no perfect one...they all have different strong points and weakness’s........need several of each!!!!

 Sometimes I thing we're related.

Yes. I have a condition...

I am always imagining this or that smoker. I have enough to cook anything I need plus more, for a long time. But when the Shirley was advertised recently, I started wondering "what if?". When I look at different types of cookers, like a cabinet or a Gateway drum, I do the same thing. I have my favorites saved and I go in and look at them and think "one of these days, when I have a place big enough to store them".

For 25 years I had a backyard full of this and that...

3 years ago I was forced to thin the herd due to moving into a home with a smaller backyard.

That experience forced me to realize that I much prefer less than more.

A MAK, kettle and griddle and I have found that there really isn’t anything that I cannot cook... plus it has allowed me to really get to know each cooker which in turn has created more enjoyment as I feel super connected to the few “tools” I have.

I am now at the point that if I were to buy something new, I’d sell an existing cooker. Problem is I haven’t found anything that I feel would up my game. Instead, I have found that upping my game comes from holding onto what I have and mastering it :)

Some of you make me cry inside... :pound:

It’s like an obsession. I have three stick burners. 4 gas grills two electric smokers and a Santa Maria grill. Have been looking at adding a PK 360 or a Kamado joe or both. What the hell is wrong with me? My wife does not even like smoke flavor.

You sound normal to me...... You will love the PK, by the way. Why not a barrel cooker? I have a Pit Barrel Cooker. It is a rib and chicken machine. I love it but now want a Gateway barrel cooker.

Sort of.

I'm almost always shopping, but I'm probably good with my existing set up. I will probably upgrade my 22 kettle to 26. I'd like to get a camp chef griddle, on fence.

There are few I'd like to add, but we'll see. I have 1/2 acre, but limited on storage and don't want to look like a junk yard.

I really want to add offset and santa maria, but not sure I want to deal with buying a cord of wood or if I'll use enough to justify and end up with dry/rotten wood. So I hold off

Nope... I'm done. Last pit I'll ever own is the one I currently have. I'll look no further because I spent 10 years figuring out what I wanted and finally got it.

As I sat on the patio yesterday I couldn't help but grin - the ease of temp control, sweet blue rolling out the stack, the food turning the most beautiful shade of smoked.... Yeah... I'm done.

Honestly, I think 1/2 the enjoyment of this hobby is window shopping and dreaming. I have a lunch there are many of us that spend a lot of time just thinking and pondering, myself included. No harm in daydreaming :)

I think the issue that some of us have is that we have to turn many of these dreams into reality. I did that for 25 years. Sure does feel good to be at a point where I now realize dreams do not always have to equal “needs“… lol.

Same..

Weber Kettle
CharBroil cheap offset
Akorn
Yoder Cheyenne (piece of garbage)
Grilla Grills Kong Kamado
Johnson Smokers "Ultimate Chargrill Trailer"
Hog style front-offset smoker

And now I'm in line for a MULE from Ironsides Smokers (hopefully have it by the end of November).
