This past weekend we hosted a gathering for everyone to come hang out, watch college football, and eat tons of 'que. I gathered 9 TV's and cable boxes (FiOS for the win) from friends and family and had them spread around my house like a sports bar, set up cornhole and ladder toss, even had a mini inflatable bounce house for the few kiddos (my brother in law got it on Amazon :loco.
We had a handful of people around for lunch during the earlier games, but the crowd exploded to around 40-50 for dinner when the A&M game started. (And no, I don't want to talk about it :doh It was a great time and gave me a chance to really break in the LSG, so, on to the good stuff.
Started Friday night in the rain, so the easyup went up in the driveway and we were off to the races. Overall I did 30# of brisket, 18# pulled pork, 3 racks of ribs, some chicken drummies, 5# sausage, about 60-70 ABT's, 20ish sweet pepper poppers, beans, corn, and banana pudding. Handful of folks brought some other desserts and sides too, it was awesome! Anyway, here's a bunch of pics.
Lovely weather
Loaded fridge! (that I found on craigslist for $100!)
Pretending to be Gene Simmons
Rubbed and ready! Used Meatchurch Holy Cow on the two briskies.
Cool shot from my brother in law
Choppin' pork like a loonie. (Mrs txags tends to take photos more seriously than I do haha)
Some shots of the final spread! Brisket got a drizzle of hot drippings right before I unleashed the horde.
Thanks for lookin!
