I built up at PID controller for an electric smoker a couple of years ago.

The controller worked great but the electric smoker didn't so I built an Ugly Drum Smoker and used the controller with a fan. The fans I have tried have all universally sucked so I looked a small commercial metal 115v fan that wouldn't give problems. Found a Dayton 2C782 on ebay for $35.00 including shipping and it already had most of the mount with it.

These can be found on ebay new and used from $20.00 to $60.00. Dayton Nos 1TDN2, 2C782, 7021-1998, 7021-2312 and Fasco # 50745-D500 are all alike except 1TDN2 has ball bearing instead of sleeve bearings.

The Flange to tubing adapter that shown in the pictures does not normally come with the unit but would be easy to build.

The general airflow specs for the 2C782 are:

CFM @ 0.000-In. SP 15 CFM
@ 0.100-In. SP 13 CFM
@ 0.200-In. SP 4 CFM

I know this is probably overkill but I got tired of fooling with POS fans.

What do y'all think?
