Q200/2000 modded for charcoal. what to do?

While driving down the road minding my own business, I see a Weber Q200 (I'm guessing) by the curb with a "FREE" sign on it. On a cart no less! My wife was so "not impressed" when I brought that home to add to my collection of outdoor cooking appliances.

What I didn't realize as I hastily jammed it into the back end of my car by the side of the busy road is that the previous owner had converted it to a charcoal grill at some point in it's life. Here are some pictures:

I have a Smokey Joe which I use only occasionally so I really don't need another small charcoal grill. I do most of my grilling on a BabyQ which I have on a modified cart left over from a Kenmore grill that was the worst grill I've ever owned but it had a nice cart. The only time I don't use the BabyQ is when I have more stuff than can fit on it OR when I like the results for that particular meat better off my Holland Grill. I am in the process of building a smoker out of a retired Bosch dishwasher so I really am not looking to make this into a smoker either.

My question is: Other than replacing the burner, regulator, and grates with the standard replacements for the 200, are there any other options I should be considering?

Doug, the links to the pictures go to Google, and that source may not be public. I copied a link and can't load it by itself.

Check to see if you can make the pictures public, or upload them to another photo hosting site. I use postimage.cc. It is easy to use. There is a full tutorial on posting pictures in the techie section of the forum.

It may not be a mod, just uncommon, they made some that were specifically for charcoal. They called it the Weber Char Q. Either way, enjoy cooking on it!

Thanks for letting me know that the pics didn't work for you. I had to go to 4 computers to finally get one that they didn't show up on for me. I'll try again a different way here. I have done it from google before and it worked but I don't remember how.
