My cousin stopped by today to help me move some furniture. He and a friend of his are avid hunters. The wanted a cooker to smoke some deer sausage and some more std Q items on. Being from "the farm" my cousin was able to provide the torch and welder, the friend some of the materials. Nice rig for their first attempt, still a work in progress but I've provided them with a few hints and some links. By the time they get this one tightened up, I hope they're ready to start on mine! :D
 
How to the leaf springs work out. Pull OK?
He said they needed to add some mass. It tracks good but the springs are definitely underloaded.
 
Looks like then are going to need a platform to stand on while tending to the grates and fire. Also, isn't the smoke stack mounted too low?
