So couple years ago ( about 6 months before the red kettle came back out) there was a rumor the Weber was going to start making red kettle again. At that time I thought it would be cool to find an old performer body and slap new red kettle in it.
As time passed, the new reds came out and had a bunch of problems. I don't think they ended up selling very well because Home Depot had them for half off. I never found an old performer body, but last Christmas I found a new performer body for $175 at Home Depot. I decided to take the plunge
That's how long it take me to get this project going.
LOL I finally did it and I made a bunch of modifications to the kettle and I freaking love it. I'm actually glad I waited because a few brave souls did this mod before I did and they ironed out a few the kinks. (Don't try this without talking to Louis at R-Shack bbq youtube channel first)
I can't wait to use it. If you guys love stuff like this, check it out and let me know what you think.
