• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Wife has a couple of CI pots that the enamel is chipping. Can anything be done to either fix it or strip it?

Why bother? Chit happens. I'd say chipped enameled CI is a badge of honor.

Just watch them now as moisture will get in there and cause rust.

I would try to season the cast iron part if the chips were big enough.

Are these pots one of the good high end brands, or are they some of the made in china types?

I know that Le Crueset has a lifetime warranty on enamel stuff if you're the original owner (no idea how they'd even check). I would imagine that Staub does something similar.

The discount brands (and even Lodge has the enamel done in China after the pots are cast in the USA, I think) probably don't stand behind them at all.
