I thought I would share this recipe. It's an unbelievably easy way to cook a turkey on a Weber kettle.

The long story is a good friend's dad would cook turkey every year for thanksgiving. This goes back 30+ years. As I got into smoking and BBQ I would ask what how he cooked the turkey. He would always say "add 8 briquettes a side every hour". I thought he was joking. Well, a few years ago Dave passed away and the traditional of cooking the turkey was passed on to my. My friend's mom broke out a booklet that came with their original Weber kettle, and it had a recipe for cooking a turkey. And it's literally "add 8 briquettes a side every hour".

Here's the method for cooking. I thought other's might be interested.

Season and brine the turkey to how you like.
Fill up a chimney and light the coals.
Setup the grill with a drip pan in the middle.
Put 1/2 coals on one side of the pan, and 1/2 on the other.
Brush cooking oil on outside of the turkey and season to your liking.
Close the lid
Add 8 briquettes a side once every hour
Cook until done (165 for the breast)

The turkey comes out amazing and couldn't be easier to cook.
