Cooked a tiny tri-tip seasoned with Oakridge BBQ's Black Ops. The black ops was a nice change from my usual salt, pepper, garlic mix. Forgot how much I like it.

Reverse seared on my Summit Kamado with a Slow N Sear.

Thanks,

Looks great. I use Black Ops on briskets occasionally. I don't think I've used it on tri-tip - usually go Santa Maria there. I generally just mix up an SPG for brisket, but there is something about Black Ops - it deserves to be used more often. Guess I'm just a creature of habit (some of them are bad...).

Thanks,

That particular tri-tip is from Painted Hills Farms and I bought it at a "premium" grocery store and it was $14 a pound. I can get prime at safeway for around $13 a pound and either choice or ungraded for $5 to $8 a pound.

Good looking beef, what you paying for tri tip up there?
