Believe it or not when I was a kid for some reason I took the muffler off my go-cart B+S engine and found that there were threads there, rigged up a pipe to go into a bucket of water and that thing was QUIET! I have no idea why I did that.
 
You could link 2 6 volts batteries in series and have even more amp hours in a lighter package but the high amp hour 6 volts are much more expensive.....

I thought about that as an option, too, but the price made me think twice!
 
The off grid campers/cabin guys do it to get maximum amp hours with least weight but it gets pricey..........

Yep. Makes sense in that environment. I thought about it for our camper for competitions that don't provide power, but our generator is always in the back of the truck, so never pulled the trigger.
