I have the v4440 it is has the automatic clamp and seal which depends on internal sensors to activate the clamp. The v2222 has a manual clamp which is actually more versatile, allowing for use with smaller or custom bag sizes and double seals. If I were to buy another, I would get the manual version rather than the automatic. I think the quality of the vacuum and seal is the same.

I never thought of buying one. Always thought I buy it, I eat it.

Monster in law had a NIB never used Seal A Meal type dealy.
Likely works the same...
