Not sure I could justify paying that kind of money, no matter how fat my wallet was. That just does not seem right! Thats half a semester of college for some kid!

The farken marbeling is unbelievable!

True Kobe is really something everyone should try at least once. I have had it both in Japan and in the US and while it is VERY tender I don't personally feel it gives the same taste or mouth feel as a choice or prime cut of beef. Honestly if I am going to order Kobe it will be a cut that normally doesn't have much marbling: sirloin, flank, ect, anything else is really just a waste of $$.

Last year I did pay for a true prime rib roast, and while it was good I think the extra fat content was a waste vs. a choice roast. I can't imagine what a Kobe roast would be like.

If Costco is stocking it, people are buying it.

Believe me, there is a large segment of the population that wouldn't think twice about dropping $2300 bucks on dinner...or even just for the entree.

I've always wanted to try some Kobe beef.

Looks yummy.

Any yes....you CAN get ground Kobe beef to make burgers. Seems I saw something on cable TV one time on Kobe beef and/or expensive meals (including a Kobe beef hot dog and/or burger). I think it was a Vegas type thing. I suppose if you lose $1,000 at the tables, they'll give you a "free" hot dog. :)

You can acually get Kobe here in the states as well. American Style Kobe (Wagyu) Beef from Snake River Farms. I've never had a true Kobe Steak, but the Kobe hamburger is just about the best ground meat you will ever have. With that said the american Wagyu meat is top notch. I bought a case of Wagyu flat iron steaks that will melt in your mouth. Plus, the Wagyu is a fraction of the price. I got my steaks at a closeout price of 5.49lb. (FYI, not my steak below)
