In honor of my father in law who recently passed, and who was known far and wide for his tri tip, we decided to do one tonight.

Got it seasoned up with some Santa Maria rub that I put together last night and wrapped:

Put on the Weber kettle at 240ish with some pecan chunks for about an hour, to an IT of 130, and then on to the hot side to sear it up:

Sliced and plated:

All in all, came out great, thanks for lookin!

Condolences for your loss.

Looks like you did him right because that Tri-Tip looks Great!

sorry for your loss, but the cook looks great! I'd be willing to bet he's smiling up in heaven.

Can I double up on the same cook? And thanks all, aside from family, I doubt there was anything that man loved more than drinking beer while I cooked.
