Know Your Mushrooms Or...

If you can't identify a mushroom with 100% certainty as the edible you are after you'd be a fool to eat it. Morels are hard to misidentify, but I'm sure some chucklehead has. You can die from eating the wrong mushroom. A friend of my parents did. With that aside,

Let me add here that I worked at an Emergency Room once when some folks from another country were brought in...had been to the Lake Ozarks, (MO.) and thought they found edible mushrooms. Unfortunately, they had not; they got to the hospital just in the neck of time and were able to be treated...life's saved!

The Conservation Commission also has good information about mushrooms. DO NOT risk eating them unless you are definite they are the edible species. Your life would be at stake!!!!!!
