Ham hocks for beans and black eyed peas

Found some cryo packed hocks the other day at WalMart and decided they needed more smoke. Soome of the more meatier hocks I've seen in awhile. So onto the medium egg with some cherry chunks.

God I love Texas. Can't wait to get back so see the Mom's. The Ham Hocks made me think of home.... I will be able to find fresh blackeyes too

That's funny,I had two packages of hocks from Walmart in my hand yesterday,but the wife said we just finished a ham last week.They sure looked good, with blackeyed peas. Maybe next week. Lets us know if they taste better putting them in a smoker again.:idea:

They have a great flavor. Rendered a little fat out and added the great hint of cherry.

My last hamhock cook I couldn't resist chowing down on a couple!
Thirdeye got me started double smoking them now-they are fantastic off the drum.

You must be making a big pot o' beans with those monster hocks, Ty!
