Adding un-lit charcoal to firebox

Personally, I like how the minerals & parafin & stuff in Blue K's drives all the hormones and anti-biotics out of the meat......:wink:
 
I'll be the dissenter-I can't stand the smell and taste of un-ashed briquettes. Even the Stubbs natural briquettes I usually use smell bad before they're ashed over. Kingsford is 10x worse. If I use briquettes, I don't want any black left on them. That smoke is just nasty, and I can taste it in the meat.

I use lump for the long-cook-Minion kind of stuff-no nasty petrochemical fumes.
