I have only entered into one throwdown before and that was the "from the heart" throwdown where I posted the pic that Moose took of my ABTs (which has garnered a less than impressive 4 votes so far).

I've only been Q'ing since last Summer and up until March, I've been using a gas grill. Since March I've been using the the 22" OTG that I got for my b-day. I just built a mini-WSM which I've yet to use but will be using for the first time for time to cook a brisket for tomorrow (which will probably be my entry if I am allowed in).

Also, I've only cooked two briskets before (and only one of those was a packer), done ABTs twice, butts once, and ribs probably about 7 or 8 times. So, despite having entered in one TD, I am pretty much the definition of a "noob" or "lesser folk".

So what say the moderators? Can I enter?

You are free to enter.

I have been a member of the Brethren for a year but have never entered a throwdown as I thought I could never stand a chance.

Here is my first entry if you choose accept it...

Sticky ribs with a nice smoke ring and some char, mmmmmmm good! I like the beans, I've been meaning to try smoking some -- can you tell us more about that? I'm a sucker for potato salad, too, really lovely plate, Conlan.

Thanks!...that's my second attempt @ smoking spares and my first attempt w/ lump charcoal. I used the 2-1-till it's done @ 275 method.

The Beans I cheated on, they're Bush's southern pit w/ flapmeat and trimmings from the spares plus a little cayenne added.

The tater salad is an old family recipe i've tweaked over the years.

The old lady and I haven't had steaks in a while so I grilled some. :-D

Oooh, I missed this exception in the first read. I may have entered 2 or 3 TDs plus the Ribs Master. I certainly thought I would have received more than a single vote for those ribs. I do all my cooking on a Weber kettle and still need a little work on fire control.

I think my last entry may have been almost a year and a half ago. Please review my stats and consider me for a conditional entry.

Thanks, big!!

Actually, I thought my special rule about requiring those who are not virgins any more, but who feel they are still quite noobile having to earn my special favors was a nice touch.

bbqchicken -- really, really nice shot of those steaks resting, you did fabulous, love the charred peppers and Bigabyte's zucchini, too

jacksedona -- Thai tom yum soup looks yummy -- how did you make it? I'm asking because I'd like to make some, too, I love Thai food. Can you tell us more about the Texas hot guts with cheese? That's new to me.

You're cooking a packer on a mini-WSM? I don't think even bigabyte has performed that feat.

Also, something we all like is reading about your cook -- what you used, how you prepared it and cooked it, and that kind of stuff.

We also like lots of pictures. :thumb:

In a addition to an entry photo, show and tell us how you made your entry -- please. :becky:

Hey Noobs! If you haven't done so already, be sure to look at the Photography Tips and Tricks thread in the Throwdown forum. A lot of good information is shared in there.

Since the voters can't taste your food, presentation is important.

A Quadruple AMEN! to THAT! :clap2::clap2::clap2:
