Well last year I got a 1/4 cord of some kind of oak. It had an orange color to it. I left it uncovered from early spring 2021. So today I fired up Shirley to run a test cook with two naked fatties at 300. 15 minutes in smoke started to clear up. Hit 300 and fatties went on. Pulled them at 165 IT.
To my surprise they were perfect! Had a very light smoke flavor.
So looks like we are good to go for the Bash!

Not sure if anyone cares, but I am around. I suffered a 3rd stroke and 2 seizures . Hotch, I will talk to you soon. Communication really sucks, and payment is a problem. The important thing is that I am alive.

Not sure if I can make the bash or not ($7X2 to do a quick hello sucks) since I am not allowed to do a long visit or drive. Otherwise, I just need to meet with someone to give them the 6XS probe prize (this thing had become a unicorn) I have been sitting on.
Just let me know when or what you want to do.
