i was looking at drums last week at my work place for possible uds candidates and found something i had not seen previously in the same drums. regular steel drum w/galvanized bottom. first one i've ever seen like that. wouldn't have noticed, except the bottom was unpainted. couldn't tell about the top, as it was painted. z


I suppose you could cover the bottom with charcoal, and fill the barrel with
wooden pallets and burn it off. The bottom should get hot enough to destroy a galvanized coating.
When I bought mine, I bought a new, food grade, steel barrel that was unlined. I still burned it out, because I thought it may have a rust preservative sprayed on the inside... I did it for my family and myself...
