There's been a lot of talk about lowball scores by a judge since the new score sheets. There is some justification for a judge just scoring everything low. But there's lots of reasons for a judge to get a different experience. I'll post this for each of the 4 meats.

Just post 1 reason for taste and/or tenderness.

Rub not applied equally causing a hot spot on one rib.

Ribs for me almost always follows closely the tenderness. Tough; cant bite rib; slammed. KCBS and it falls apart; slammed. MBN/GBA and it wont pull from the bone; slammed.

Are you saying you'd lowball an entry if all ribs were not from the same rack?

He is saying that the taste could differ from one rack to the next.

you put 5 ribs from one rack and 1 rib from another in a box...they look the same but...

ie. 5 ribs from one rack that get 9's and 8's and your second rack was a bit different resulting in 1 rib that scores 7's on Taste and tenderness
