I bought a pair of the 3/8" grommets off of the cajun bandit website for use with mine.

If you have to drill new holes for the 3/8" size, why not just drill the holes and not worry about the grommet kit? I'm sure it looks better to install it, but any other factors to consider?

I used a piece of threaded lamp pipe for my weber performer.

I ordered 2 of these this evening. One for myself, and one for a for a friend. I plan on putting mine on a UDS with the hose barb fitting or maybe the lamp nipple for the probes and cabling.
