Laser Infrared plus probe Thermometer under $50

Klein tools pocket infrared plus flip-out probe. Very handy to check temps around the pit and the temp of whatever you're cooking. We use the laser thermometer routinely to check the temp of things we're heating in the microwave. Amazingly useful.

The tip of the probe is not the tiniest one I've ever seen but the response time is better than adequate.

I paid $34.99 for mine as an Amazon "used" (aka customer return) item and it was in like-new condition.

I bought the Thermapen IR for nearly $100 and regret it. Use of the IR is very awkward. I much prefer using the pistol grip type for surface temp. Plus, it does not have a laser pointer which also sucks.

That looks like a pretty useful tool and at a decent price. Klein Tools is a pretty decent quality brand too as far as I know.

I have a Klein pistol grip laser, too, IIRC bought at a slightly lower price from Home Depot. It is indeed slightly easier to use, but the flip-out probe on this one makes it the winner.
