Hello All!
Not a competitive cooker here, just enjoy some good BBQ.
Built a small trailer mounted smoker a few years back with my ex brother in law, selling out of the half interest in that and working on building a new one. Already have 2 big propane tanks... working on finding a trailer.

Originally from TN, I love hickory smoke, and haul it back from my parents house as much as I can. I have a question though for those of you in Texas... can you use Live Oak for cooking?

i haven't used it but several central Texas BBQ places use it. I'm a fan of hickory too (but i can get it free where i hunt in SW Arkansas).

Thanks for the warm welcome! Not much around here except pecan (when you can find one that can be cut) and mesquite. I wanted to get oak, hickory, and some cherry from Dad's place in TN, but I got mainly hickory, he wouldn't part with the cherry...lol

Looking forward to good conversation here!
