I have been asked to cook for a work function in which they will need hamburgers and hotdogs. We are not allowed to have a grill at the site we are having our event. What is the best way to hold hamburgers and hotdogs so they at least stay warm enough to eat?

Foil the meats, put them in a cooler, and fill any remaining space in the cooler with towels, so that there is no air-space in the cooler.

Just like caseydog states we have used foil to wrap burgers and dogs for transit in coolers. Lately we use these Cambro carriers LINK with food pans wrapped in clear wrap and foil (clear wrap protects from juices leaking out). These may be available through rental stores in your area. You can carefully preheat, for a few minutes, the inside of the Cambro with a Sterno can like is used for under chafing pans.
