I have made that several times and always cut way back on the pepper. Way too much. However, make sure you use a Stout as it is the flavor base in that dish. Really great recipe, except for the pepper....

Do you mean the sweet peppers, the jalapeños or the black pepper in the rub?

If I have really hot jalapeños, I go easy on them. Not everyone here enjoys that much heat. I can always give mine a squirt or two if hot sauce.
