Kickback BBQ on Guam

New to the idea and would like to use ground turkey instead of pork.
Will / Should the BBQ Gods strike me down for the thought?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ensure that they stay bound together?
 
I would say wrap it in bacon but it kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?
 
I thought about wrapping in bacon or banana leaf (with a binder like meat loaf). The health is a big part of it put not primarily. We have swithed most of our pork sausage and beef use over to ground turkey with much success.
Best biscuits and gravy that I have ever had comes from turkey with the right spices
