cooking with live oak or water oak?

It's good. Stronger than what you use. A little milder than hickory.

i love oak. As mentioned it burns pretty hot, and is a stronger smokey flavor than most woods. So armed with that info you are now good to go!

Oak - water, live, red, white, blackjack, turkey, pin, or cherrybark... it's all good. Free is even better!
