Cincinnati Chili

I made some today, first time I’ve had it.

I used this this supposed authentic Skyline recipe.

Seemed real strong with the cloves, all spice, cinnamon. Is that the way it is supposed to be?
I think I would cut those 3 in half if so.

Authentic Cincinnati Chili
Ingredients

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 quart water, or amount to cover
2 onions, finely chopped
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
¼ cup chili powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
5 whole cloves
5 whole allspice berries
1 bay leaf

Yep, think spaghetti with Greek, Christmas meat sauce. Not a fan... I think it's an acquired taste.

A lot of people love Oakridge Dominator. I don't care for it because of the cinnamon.

Hope I don’t get banned for this, but I’ve never heard of or had Cincinnati chili.
Is the “5 way” anything like the spaghetti and chili they used to serve at Bob’s Big Boy?
I used to love that stuff…
