Desert Dweller

Babbling Farker
A guy I met at church and I started talking bbq. He had bought an electric Brinkman and was having fun learning. So we decided to have a backyard bbq for about 50 or so of the middle aged guys and their wives/families.
The menu; Pulled Pork (4 eight pound butts)
Brisket, a packer and a flat
Chicken legs - 51
ABT's - 100
Side Dishes provided by the wives - baked beans, mac salad.

The guys got together on Friday night for a couple of hours as we went over injections, rubs, prepping ABT's and lots of laughs. Saturday Big Al and I met at the location at 0430, cranked up and dialed the BDS Mega in at 250....We put on the butts and the briskets about 0500. About 1030 we prepped and put in the chicken legs, it took 4 of the leg racks I use, plus a few stacked on top. Let me tell you, by the time we got the ABT's unwrapped and ready for the cooker, the BDS was almost full, so we had to put about 1/2 of the ABT's on the Brinkman. We used Hickory, Pecan, Pistachio and a little Apple, the combination was tasty and aromatic. Somehow or another Al's Dad asked us to put on a 3-rib Ribeye Roast for their dinner later that night. We had a ball, and everyone was happy, I went home and slept for a couple hours on ther couch, then moved to the bed for another hour...Thx for looking in. By the way, Big Al (pic of he and his lovely wife included) is now on our forum, though I forget his handle, but welcome him if he makes himself known, he's a good guy!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention we tossed a Fatty w/japs, onions and cheese on about 9, and had a mid morning snack!

Nothing like a mess a great BBQ to bring people together and build relationships! That's what BBQ is all about.

And to think that I sometimes have trouble getting my act together cooking for two.

Amazing feed you ladies & gents put together.
