When travelling through the greater St. Louis area today, DO NOT stop at Super Smokers or Bandannas BBQ. You will be sorry!!!! QT's are great fuel stops, and take 255 / 270 / 370 around the north side of St. Louis.

And for safety's sake... don't stop for ANYTHING in East St. Louis.
If you have to stop, do it on the Missouri side of St. Louie...
Have a great time and very safe trip!
Wish I could make it up to KC this weekend.

Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone safe travels and good luck this weekend. I had a chance to cook for a team down there this weekend (they are about the party and not about the comp) so I decided not to do it and I'm regreting it right now.

holy chit, what a day. BBQ-Brethren is at the Royal!

the excitment was ovewhelming today.. setting up with the arena right behind us, the HUGE rigs pulling in, people scrambling all over.. and then we, The Brethren, started showing up... from all over.. we had a boatload of folks at our site for hours, and even more stoppping by.. it was unbelievable.. We're here, we're tired, and we haven't
even started. getting to bed.. but heres some of yesterday and today.

I went to East St. Louis once. We were in St. Louis on business with a couple of adventurous friends of mine. I remember this one district which was kind of like a mall of gentlemens clubs (and I use that term extremely loosley). I remember walking into the bar and the first thing I saw were bartenders dressed in leather with studs and spikes on. The next thing that caught my attention is that I saw girls dressed in nun's habits on swings suspended from the ceiling. I can't go into any more detail than that on this forum but you catch the drift. It was a wild, wild place. Cops were all parked outside at closing just waiting to bust people that were under the influence and driving. It's a place I'll never forget.
