No-brainer pellet smoker for an experienced griller

You mentioned ribs - I've done some Great ribs in my Masterbuilt electric I used to have. Used to take it to work and another guy would bring his (cuz they wouldn't allow anything with a flame nor let us tend it all morning) and we'd do 12-16 racks for all the guys in the shop. I drill out the Tiny holes in the chip tray bigger and used a small fan to force air thru it and would fill chip tray 3-4 times in 4 hours. I did briskets, pork butts, chuckies but Ribs were Best.

If you’re just smoking in it, Pit Boss makes a nice cabinet that that would do everything you wanna do for about $500.

Does what ya want and saves the budget, no brainer.

Hey all, thanks again. I just don't see a need for another "grill" so i am going with the Camp Chef XXL Pro Pellet Smoker. Sure seems like the Smoke Drawer to add chunks/chips puts the end result over the competition and combines it with relative ease of use.

Honestly, I want to find a deal...looks like it's pretty solid on the $899.

Honestly have you looked at your local Home Depot or Lowes? They still have older Traeger models on the floor that I have seen locally here in Sacramento for like 699.. under budget and a great entry into pellet cooking. Just an option.

IIRC Cookin' Pellets are easy to find out West and are good pellets.
The Bear Mtn. Smitty mentioned are in stock at most Tractor Supply stores.

Awesome guys. Assembly was an adventure including a misaligned door but I think I got it. Burn-in this morning, now first attempt at smoking, just some nice ribeyes up to 115 and then a rest and a sear finish on the Weber Summit. Can't get WiFi connected but hopefully that's my biggest problem. Now comes the learning curve.
