My offset pitbuild (franklin/millscale mashup)

What was the thought process behind the bigger smoke collector?

The Franklin pit has a rounded end of the cookchamber and we have ha flat end. So i did it a little bit longer and wider to remove any hotspot ner the stack further away from the grate. Right or wrong, I dont know =)

Planning to do a "bisket-test" this weekend, will post som pictures on that here.

More pictures from the build.

Great build. Congrats!

I would love to see your .dxf files. Feel free to DM. TIA.

Nice fab work. That lid looks heavy, why did you not add a counterweight?

Beef ribs, pretty happy with them for being first time. Nice and juicy but a little lack of salt IMO.

What a freaking beauty of a unit! Nice looking ribs to boot. You must be proud (grill) father.

Didn’t expect to see this level of quality when I opened this thread. Gorgeous! How are temps across the grate?

Really, really nice looking build. A new career beckons whenever you need a change.

Wow, how did you get that level to work sideways? :p

(Somebody had to do it…)

Seriously, though, I’ve worked in metalworking for 40 years and been around some really top notch welders and fabricators and those units are right up there.

Infact the welder and I have been contacted by our local bbq-joint (there are only about 3-4 places in sweden that serves "real" bbq.
They want to offer offsetsmokers to their customers.

You guys could seriously have a career. No need to import these from the US to Europe when you guys make a super nice pit right there.

That is spectacular.
