Ok guys i'm in the middle of doing a brisket on the WSM and the ET-732 is down to 207deg and the party Q says 235 where it is set. Which one to believe?
I don't have any issues clipping the alligator clip to the Mav.This has been a frequent question here lately.
Remove the alligator clip from the "Party Q" and attach both probe in the cooker the same way. (IE: Clothespin or whatever you choose).
When both probes are mounted the exact same way and in the same area they will remain within 8 degrees of each other.

Never had an issue but...Aluminum clip?? Mine is steelThat's great that that has solved your issue...
It doesn't always work with other cookers.
Many times it's the Aluminum Alligator clip that causes the difference in the readings.
If you read the link, those that had continued problems, once they attached both probes in the same manner the readings were consistent within 8 degrees of each other throughout the cook.
