I have a couple pics here, but if anyone has a site to help determine tree type, that would be awesome. I think it may be a White Ash, but I don't know yet...
What do the flowers/seeds/nuts/whatever look like?
never seen any nuts/flowers/seeds or whatever but these little guys just came off before the leaves kicked in... they are all over my front yard... lol
I see you've got your answer basically, but I can say with reasonable certainty (I've had one) that it is an Arizona Ash. That is what is most commonly sold here (N TX) in the nurseries because it is fast growing hard wood. However, the landscape experts here consider it a trash tree since it is susceptable to pests, disease and breaks in storms. The developers use it because it's cheap and it grows fast. Probably more info than you want but now you know.
but it made for a nice smoke though... hehe
That's good to know. I haven't heard of using ash for smoking. I guess nobody's throat swelled shut. Does it compare to anything you've used before? Maybe you're on to something new.
Burn it and it will be Ash for sure!
