The company that i work for held our annual sales meeting in henderson, NV, suburb of Vegas last week. My wife flew out on Friday and we hung out for the weekend. We met a local in a bar and she told us that the best Q in town was a the Harley Davidson Cafe! There's probably better Q, but we wanted to go there anyway, so we had dinner. I had a combo plate with some pulled pork, a chicken leg quarter, some baby backs and a smoked sausage. Everything was actually pretty good. the ribs had too much suace, but the sauce had a nice zip to it.

We also stopped by Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. I tried their fajitas, which were very good, but I also talked the guy into a taste of their jerked chicken, which was also very good. The margaritas were the best, however

Parrothead... I bought a very cool Margaritaville hat with parrots all over it... Lots of cool merchandise!

Cool. The last two times I was out there, they were biulding it, but not finished yet. The Harley food was OK, but was more about the sauce than the meat. Did you get your picture taken on the bike from Easy Rider?

Margaritaville!!! I'm there! The food was good and the drinks were very good!

I agree that it was all about the sauce at Harley. The pulled pork was pretty tastey but used a tomato-based sauce instead of a vinegar-based sauce. The chicken was moist and falling off the bone. The ribs were way over-sauced, but moist, and the sausage was pretty good, but a little dry. They had two sauces on the table, one was heavy on the honey, and the other had a little kick to it, but not much.

I didn't get my picture taken on the Easy Rider bike... I probably should have... I did buy a leather Harley Cafe ball cap (When I get souvenirs, it usually a cap... Very few places have shirts to fit me...).

Man, this is wierd. I collect shotglasses from every where I go too.

Except for DizzyWorld. They're too "family" for shotglasses.

Vegas is not a Q town. Stick to the buffets or the ethnic stuff at some of the casinos. Had an expensive steak at a famous steak house, and it was only ok at best. My best meals were at the European reaturants at the casinos. The Q you had was not Q in my book. You can't cook real Q in an oven, and then drown it in sauce. I used to eat that stuff, but I can't anymore now that I know what real Q tastes like. Call me a snob if you wish, but I hate almost everything at places like Applebees.

OK... You're a snob... :p :)

I'm the same way, though... I'm spoiled when it comes to coffee since I roast my own. I can't drink coffee in most restaurants and coffee shops. I'm just starting out with Q, but I already notice the difference! I wanted to go to the Harley Cafe and Margaritaville anyways. We were playing tourist for a long weekend...
