In honor of Mr. Tri Tip himself, Robb, formerly of California, I did up 2 tri tips...one prime creek stone with sp and oak ridges Santa Maria seasoning and one choice wegmans (local grocer) with Pappys’s ca tri tip seasoning. I tried this before and there was no comparison honestly...but this time they both came out incredible....I went a little lighter on the Pappys and maybe that’s why it was better. Family still preferred SPG and oak ridge Santa Maria over Pappy’s but it was close! Went with really little oak splits on the M1...the xl kindling cracker is Money! Cooked until 110 and then seared
Started with belle glos Pinot (fabulous Pinot btw)...truly excellent Pinot....and finished with a very good Bennett’s lane cab...I’ve had it before and scored 3 bottles dirt cheap...
In the end, the excellent!
