Wanted to make some chicken dumplings, asian style. SO i thought a great way to start was with some chicken thighs. Let's start off with the marinade.

1 Cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 Cup Teriyaki Marinade
1 Tbls Chinese 5 Spice
1/2 Tbls Ground Ginger
2 Tbls Minced Garlic
1Tbls Sesame Oil

I let the chicken marinate in that per night. The next day I started up the UDS aka Diesel Boy, got him up to 425 degrees, and threw the marinated chicken thighs on skin side down to start.

After about 30-40 minutes I flipped and basted them with some Soy Vay Veri Teri-yaki sauce. It's a great teriyaki sauce with sesame seeds.

One done I pulled them from the grill and let them rest.

Dumpling Filling

1/2 Cup Jullian Cut Carrots
1/2 Onion Finely Diced
2 Scallions Chopped
3 Cloves Garlic Finely Chopped
1 Head Bok Choy (Or 1 Head Boston Cabbage)
Sesame Oil for cooking

This gave me time to make up the rest of the dumpling filler. Sliced up some carrots, scallions, onions garlic and cabbage. I heated up some sesame oil in a skillet. The carrots went in first to soften, then the onions scallions, and garlic, followed by the cabbage.

After that was cooked I deboned the thighs and chopped the grilled Teriyaki chicken.

I then added the cabbage mixture with the Teriyaki chicken and let them cool and get happy.

Then it was time to start filling and making the dumplings. I used about 1Tbls of the Teriyaki Chicken mix for each dumpling and a little water to seal the edge.

After the teriyaki chicken dumplings were made they took a quick swim in some boiling water.

Were next drained and patted dry, then I gave the teriyaki chicken dumplings a quick pan fry.

Here we are all finished and plated. Pan fried Teriyaki Chicken Dumplings, scallions, wasabi, and Sesame Teriyaki sauce for dipping. Enjoy!

Nice cook Grimm. Where'd you learn to make Mandu?
Thanks! Too many cooking shows, eating, and the google.

I love fried dumplings, and yours look great!!! I've never made them before, and I might give them a try. Your instructions are very good.
Thanks, It's really quite easy, filling and sealing is just time consuming if you don't have tons of space.
