pork butts on a wsm - 1st time with both, please advise

Ok, as promised, here's the pron from Sunday's smoke. This is the first time I'd used my WSM. Acutally, it was the first time I'd used any smoker. It was also the first time I'd cooked pork butt. I put two butts totaling 16.6 lbs on the WSM over Kingsford Comp with 6 apple chunks. The meat was on for 12.5 hours @ 275 and when it come off it was nice and smokey, without being overpowering, and had plenty of moisture. My family and friends devoured most of it in the first 24 hours, but we still have a little left.

The sun came up over the horizon as the smoker was getting warmed up, so I snapped a photo, as well a photo of the pork once it was pulled. These were taken with my cell phone rather than my camera, so I apologize for the poor quality.

Looks great! :clap2:

Soooo....will you be doing this again? :becky:

Oh definitely... I'm also looking forward to giving ribs a try, and I've been asked to do a turkey in the near future as a trial for Thanksgiving.

That WSM looks so... majestic as it poses in first light.

Nice cook. Gotta love the WSM!
