Mista's design is perfect for his location. he explained his cleanup directions. He has a grate that is sort of a tray. Reach in pull it out go to dump spot, put tray back, load with more coals cook more food.

So...how does one go about getting a free barrel?

Man If you were closer to south dakota I could get you all the barrels you need. we throw 10 or more of these away daily that have cooking oil in them. They are food grade Barrels and the companys do not reuse them so we just cut the tops and bottoms out and smash and give to the scrap metal place. What a hassel. Anyone that wants barrels we just give them away.

How do you differentiate a food grade barrel from one that had some nasty chemicals in it?

Do most food establishments use steel barrels for cooking oil?
