I love taking a peek at CL a few times a week just to see whats out there...
Haven't made a purchase in quite a while, but it's still fun to window shop
This past Monday, I decided to jump on CL just to see if perhaps the deal of a lifetime had my name on it...
Hmmm, is that what I think it is?!?! I cannot remember the last time I saw one of those hit CL...
I clicked on the link, and sure enough... a Yoder YS640 had just been posted a few minutes prior to me finding it.
Not that I need another pellet cooker, but I decided to shoot the seller a text asking for the price which wasn't listed in the ad. He quickly replied... "It's FREE, just come pick it up." I asked him if there was anything wrong with it? He replied... "it needs a new igniter rod (maybe $40), but other than that, it's in great shape!" I told him that I wouldn't be able to pick it up that day, he said no problem... as long as you pick it up this week. Deal!!!!!!
Got to thinking about it that night. I really REALLY don't need another pellet grill, nor do I really have room for one. That got me to further thinking. We have some good friends, that like us, have a large family. My buddy loves to cook outdoors, but has never had a nice smoker (not that he hasn't wanted one). Hmmmm, perhaps he would like a FREE Yoder?!?! Needless to say, I now have a very excited friend that will be picking this up today or tomorrow. Me, I can't wait to see him fall in love with feeding his family from a pellet pooper
I couldn’t help ask why he was getting rid of it...
He told me that he doesn’t really smoke much anymore and was replacing it with his new Santa Maria grill:
