Mobilized the WSM 18

[SMOKE FREAK]

I got tired of moving the WSM here and there so I built this cart. Patio Cruiser.
Built entirely from salvaged lumber. 8' of 4X4 and about a half mile of 2X4.
FREAKin heavy but the steel wheels roll like a dream.


Got a hook to hold the lid when it's not on the cooker.


So to take the patio cruiser for a test drive I pulled the drip pan out of the WSM and cranked the temps up to 400.




Considering it's all salvage lumber (some of the 2X4s are 30 years old) I have at least 4 different colors of lumber. So staining and sealing are not an option.
I either need to paint it or just let it age. Kinda rustic redneck.
Either way, I think I'm gonna like this rig.

You're right. If this was a 22" WSM then the deck would be too high. This is right so I don't have to bend over too far to see the vent openings. Old guy syndrome.

Looks like one helluva rig. Put some clear coat on it to protect your work. And enjoy the eclectic look of all the different colored woods.

I got the Bullet for $125.00. Spent around $50 to build the cart. That's with free lumber...

Beer cooler is never far away and the flat screen stays in the house. Don't need that in the "Q area"...

That is really a great idea!! I too get tired of trying to move my WSM 22 from the patio to the cook area. Thought about something similar, now just may have to follow suit.

Looks nice, you might consider some front to back bracing as there is nothing to keep it from getting loosey goosey with use.

Hey we do what needs doin. Right? If a hand cart does the trick then it's better than what I had before.
