I believe it's been invented multiple times by different people. The Master invented it once, but I've heard mention that others also did it before. This was done for a throwdown many years ago. I believe Smokey Al Gold gave it the name Kettle-Fried Chicken (KFC), but I'd do some research:

I've made you master's version several years ago as well. Was quite good.
