It has to be true, it is cast into the bottom of this beauty - - The Western Foundry Company, number 4, “Mi-Pet”, cast iron oval roaster.
Does that mean you need to start with tasty food??
I didn’t take any chances, so started with a 3lb chuck roast and seared both sides in the roaster on a hot BGE with a chunk of pecan wood. I snuggled in potatoes, onions, garlic, Oakridge SPOGOS and some beef broth and put the lid on for a couple hours.
The pot roast was tasty and more importantly, a winner with the wife! The “Mi-Pet” lived up to its title of Keeps Food Tasty - it just doesn’t keep it for long, this pot roast was devoured, no leftovers today.
Keep it tasty, Brethren!
