I would snag that in a hot second for $65. Judging by the lack of soot on the firebox, I bet it has hardly ever been used. Check out this YouTube Video from a guy who repaired an old kamodo and built a table for it. The final result looked awesome check out his Part 2 video for the end result.

I love the look of mine. I would never paint it.
But I just like old things with their original patina.
I have seen some on here that did need paint.
Yours is not one of them.

As much as I enjoy refurbishing the old claypots, they never will be the cookers the Big Green Eggs are!

Very nice! I can't wait to finish my restoration project. I will be starting a new thread to keep everyone updated on the progress.
 
I don't know anything about kamados, but instead of painting it, couldn't you have glazed and re-fired? Just wondering.
