Hey everyone!

Has anyone heard of The Hooray Grill company? I've been on the hunt for a flat top for years. I ended up buying a Yoder 48" flat top, but was disappointed with the design and quality and just gave it away last year before moving.

I recently stumbled across The Hooray Grill Company , but could find no testimonial or third-party experience with them at all. Their marketing is superb, but how close does an actual McDonald's hamburger look to what you see in an Ad? I spoke with one of their principals and really liked what he had to say, so I took a leap of faith.

I received mine today, without any expectation, and I can only say that I think this is the grill version of an SF smoker. The engineering and quality, from the design to the materials to the welds, are about as good as can be had. None of that comes cheap, so there's that.

If anyone is interested, I'll update the thread with pictures of my new grill and some of what comes off of it. I'll include a marketing photo in the meantime so I don't get beat up for my wall of text. ;)

Thanks! I'll get some pictures started today. I'm hopeful I can get a cook in. I'm in Phoenix, and it's not cool out right now.

I'm super impressed with it so far. Like many here, I've had a version of just about everything made and just never settled on a perfect grill. I wasn't looking for a Santa Maria grill, but have always wanted one. You're right about the price, but it appears to be worth it so far. We'll see...

The day I was using it was pretty windy.
Having a wind screen would be a nice option.
Other than that,,,I Would love to spin a nice big rib roast on it,,,,

No...not it is not...I just brave the elements, find shade, use my swamp cooler, and drink plenty of bee...erm...fluids

congrats on the grill. That thing looks badass BTW.

The Hooray was at a hard scape retail/ wholesale business . Pave stone is one of their product lines.
They also sell high end bbq grills, outdoor kitchens, outside lighting etc.
They have an impressive set up.

Here's a few pictures. I think it will be more interesting when I get a fire going. My intent is to burn as much wood as possible. I have a large Tuscan oven, so I have and burn a lot of wood. If I do have limited time, I'll likely fire up some lump and throw a few splits on top.

Over the years, I've gone from briquettes to lump to wood to lump to pellets. Now I'm back at wood. The pizza oven did that to me. :-D

A couple of quick facts about this grill:

-Grates are 3/8" stainless rod.
-Firebox is double-walled for safety.
-Lift gears are brass and stainless. They say they run better with use.
- Rotisserie is rated for 80LB and is very easily detachable.
-Ash pan slopes down to a door/bucket on the side of the grill.

Unsure what else is special about this yet other than they say it's built as a lifetime grill and the quality seems to indicate that - so far...

I love cooking with wood,,,,
That grill is everything you want in a Santa Maria
Looks like you have the 48”
That’s what I am looking to get,,,

That looks very, very nice! You may have just turned a few folks on to something they haven't heard of. Congrats and let's get cooking.
