Not a sauce per se, but dang good on pulled pork.

Chris Lilly's recipe:

6 1/2 cups distilled vinegar
1/2 cup cayenne
2 TBS salt
3 slices lemon

It looks like this when it settles (I used cider vinegar for this batch):

So you gotta give a good shake before using:

It doesn't take much. I drizzle a tsp or two on each bun half, then some on the pork, and a little more on the slaw when making a sammich.

Find a Sauce off the shelf that is close to the flavor you are looking for and then use the same ingredients to make your own and modify it to your liking. I personally like Famous Dave's Devil's Spit. I tweeked the ingredients on that to make it a little sweeter and a little hotter.

Blues Hog is my favorite on ribs but I don't consider it hot and tangy. But then again most folks say Blues Hog is too sweet and I don't think it tastes that sweet to me. I have a Smoke and Spice book that has a lot of homemade sauce recipes.
