Did a nice little basic cedar planked salmon.

Looks great, I am a minimalist too when it comes to salmon. Butter, garlic, and maybe a little lemon and that's it

I saw a sale on alder planks years ago and bought about 20 of them. Other than planking food, I saved some of the pretty ones and use when vacuum sealing smoked salmon sides. The plank prevents the fillet from smashing AND the plank works as a cutting board if you gift them to friends or take them to a party.

One of the things I miss about living on the coast is fresh caught salmon.

Looks good. My go to is Montreal steak seasoning cook skin down until done - do not flip.

Where do ya'll buy your salmon?

I got these from a buddy that went on a salmon fishing trip and he was cleaning his freezer out gearing up for his new trip to the keys to fish.

But usually I just buy from a local fish market or Kroger but on salmon I always get wild caught instead of farm raised.
