The trophies arrived yesterday.

We're awarding trophies from 1st - 10th for KCBS. These are very, very nice (and big) with a brand new flamed column design. (Really, it just hit the market). The GC and RGC Trophies are the custom Patchin Fire Company Helmets with visors (White for GC (Chief), Red for RGC (Captain)). This year we changed up the towers that they sit on. Last year we used walnut, this year they are mahogany. NICE! Actual standard issue fire helmets with brass eagles, visor, and a custom leather patch and plaque. Bring your "A" game and getcha one! They are very unique.

NEBS Wide Open Grilling will be awarded through 5th place. Again, really nice flame column trophies. Also very nice. Triple Tower GC and RGC.

At last count, we have 39 KCBS Teams Registered, and 25 NEBS Wide Open Grilling Contestants.

We're a little short on the 50 team field, and would like to fill the field. The late registration fee has been waived, and I'll accept a check and registration form at the door.

The Smokin Aint Easy team had a great time at our first comp.

Mike and crew had everything covered, ice, trash pick up, clean porta potties and good beer for the cooks, thanks a bunch Mike!!! Met a bunch of great people and learned a lot.

Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Mike and the volunteers rolled out the red carpet yet again this year, and I am more than sure that they kept the hospitality up until the last team pulled out. Congrats on everyone who received calls and got one of the awesome new style trophies. This is a MUST not miss folks....if you want to feel what it is like to be at a contest that the event personnel really are grateful for every team being there then you should attend the Boston Hills contest....

Ok this weekend was completely different from any of the 5 years I have been competing. We had the disappointment of not having Skip with us. So that left me driving the HIS truck and dragging it back to Albany when I was done. Well despite having no Skip I think we did ok :becky: We turned in all 8 categories on time without being DQ'd. We took a walk in 7 place brisket and we took the 1st place dessert for NEBS. Without Mike and all his wonderful volunteers this would have never worked. If you want a contest that makes you feel at home, then don't miss this one!! It was the absolute BEST!! Mike thanks again and again! You and everybody else did an awesome job!!:clap2:

What a weekend! Can't believe it went by so quickly.

Thanks to EVERYONE who came out to the Boston Hills BBQ Fest 2010 - teams, judges, volunteers, committee members, and of course, patrons! The folks involved in putting this event on, work very hard to do so. I'll make sure everyone has a chance to read all the kind words.

Congratulations to our fine field of competitors, especially to IQue and Good Smoke who both posted some monster scores to take home the titles in KCBS and NEBS Wide Open Grilling respectively. Both RGC teams from each competition, The BBQ Guru and Buffalo Meatheads, were equally excited about their strong showings. Nice job to everyone who took a walk, or did their best. Lots of variety during the awards ceremonies, which is always great to see.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the competition trail this summer, and at Boston Hills BBQ Fest 2011!
