Can you use bamboo as a fuel for smoking? Where I live we have tons of it growing everywhere. Thought it might be a low cost fuel.
 
Hhhmmm never thought about that. I would guess you wouldn't get much heat out of it being hollow. Probably would give you a quick burst of heat then die out.
 
I've seen many contractors install bamboo wood floors and they damage easily because they are extremely soft. Don't really know how it would burn.

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade..

If life gives you bamboo, make skewers....

Then drink lemonade while eating kabobs

I just googled, "bamboo charcoal for cooking" and it actually is a product that is produced so the answer would be yes. Ideally you might want to try making the sticks into a charcoal and then using it for cooking.
